Cantine Belisario

ABOUT THE WINERY

Cantine Belisario was founded in 1971. Today it has 300 hectares of vineyards, of which about 100 are owned and the remainder awarded to 150 members. The vineyards are housed in the Alta Valle Esina and cultivated directly. Each label is a winemaking project which has its own dedicated vineyard, vinification and ripeness paths. The winery is the largest producer of Verdicchio di Matelica DOC and DOCG, yielding approximately 80% of the total supply.

Belisario is a “social” winery, as it fully experiences the concept of "genius loci" and “terroir". The harvest time is defined through the ripening curves which are typical of each label. Vinifications are thermos-controlled and customized. Wines maturation process is differentiated in steel and wood. The packaging provides for cold sterilization, and fining process occurs in bottle housed in hygro-eolo-thermo- conditioned rooms.

Belisario has been certified ISO 9001: 2015 since 2002 certificated for the vinification of organically grown grapes with about 24 hectares of organic vineyards.
